Follow You Home
Women artists from Cambodia and Australian‑Cambodian diaspora
4—26 September 2026
Curated by Lauren Elise Barlow
Follow You Home presents four emerging Cambodian and Australian-Cambodian artists - Linda Sok, Allison Chhorn, Mao Sovanchandy, and Nataly Lee - exploring diasporic identity, cultural inheritance and the search for belonging.
The exhibition forms part of our ongoing, intentional engagement with Cambodian art and artists. Building on exhibitions by curator Lauren Elise Barlow including All That Surrounds Us (2023) and Teyyatean: Than Sok Giving Alms(2024) and the recent Cambodian Art Study Tour, Follow You Home reflects a sustained commitment to fostering meaningful exchange and supporting artistic communities shaped by complex histories of migration and cultural resilience.
Working across film, photography, installation, and Khmer artisan traditions, the artists reflect on living between cultures, languages, and geographies. Their works consider “home” as both inherited and reimagined, marked by memory, distance, and connection. Follow You Home sits within a growing movement, foregrounding diasporic voices, exploring identity shaped by migration, displacement, and cultural hybridity. By focusing on a single country, Cambodia, the exhibition highlights the divergent personal experiences that emerge from shared histories of war and migration.
Presented at The Grace Cossington-Smith Gallery in colloboration with 16albermarle Project Space, the exhibition invites audiences, particularly young people navigating transnational identities, to reflect on the beauty and tension of defining home across borders.
