In this image Rudi Hermawan explores the strange practices and mystical objects that can be found at some night markets, from animal sacrifices to “magical” talismans that can cure illnesses, make you rich, or help you win a lover. Rudi’s work always features a slightly bewildered, anonymous figure with a plastic bag over their head, an “everyman” figure who could be anyone, or all of us.
